Rites of Life released in six languages!
The book Rites of Life has now been released in two trilingual editions by the publishing company Taschen.
Rites of Life is awarded the Swedish Publishing Price!
At the Swedish Publishing Gala in Stockholm, October 15, 2009, the book Rites of Life was awarded the Swedish Publishing Price for best book in the non-fiction category.
Rites of Life is written and photographed by Anders Ryman, who has traveled to more than twenty different cultures around the globe to document life cycle rituals for this monumental project.

The winner of one of the fine art prints, which were on display during the exhibition at Upplandsmuseet in Uppsala, is Barbro Lindqvist from Östhammar, Sweden. Her chosen picture, ”Fishermen, Bolivia”, will be sent to her shortly.
And the winner of the Gothenburg picture lottery is…
The winner of one of the fine art prints, which were on display during the exhibition in Gothenburg, is Anna-Lena Bengtsson from Västra Frölunda, Sweden.
Her chosen picture, ”Novice monk, Thailand”, will be sent to her shortly.
Rites of Life opens in Gothenburg!
On February 24, the exhibition Rites of Life, previously shown outdoors on Raoul Wallenberg Square in Stockholm, is moved into Nordstan shopping centre in Gothenburg.
The exhibition is opened by Brittmo Bernhardsson, president of the association Music Against Violence.

The winner of one of the fine art prints, which were on display in the visitor’s tent during the outdoor exhibition in Stockholm, is Ebba Strömqvist from Solna, Sweden. Her chosen picture, ”Song and Dance Troup, Morocco”, will be sent to her shortly.
Rites of Life is born!
Now the book Rites of Life is here; all 560 pages and 287 photographs. At the same time a large outdoor exhibition featuring the most compelling images is being shown in Raoul Wallenberg Square in the center of Stockholm.
”Thank you! The baby is fine,” says Anders Ryman, father of the child. ”But it has been a long pregnancy.”
